The responsibilty of the Governance Committee is to create the structure and provide strategic leadership to fulfill the Purple Flag for Dementia Care™ program mission and ensure the outcomes defined in the Cornerstone Philosophy.

The Governance Committee consists of experts who have demonstrated experience, skill and knowledge in the care of persons with dementia, as well as possess an understanding of the regulatory requirements and best practices. Specific members of the committee shall include the CALA President, staff professionals, CALA Representatives, and selected representatives in Case Management, Nursing, Social Work and Management in the field of aging services.
